As part of continuous learning, ASIRS regularly organise seminar and workshop to keep our fellow security practitioners updated with the current terrorism threat in the region.
This upcoming seminar is a complimentary introductory session on the prevailing terrorism threat landscape and the potential exploitation of Open Sources media platform (OSINT).
Presenter for the seminar is a highly trained researcher and social media practitioner in finding information that could be used in court hearings and aid in forensic investigations. She is also a founder of a US-based intelligence group, which is engaged in the fight against terror, monitors and provides a collection of online data, threats and incitements, and customised analysis on activities in the Philippines, Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia.
The presenters shall cover terrorism developments in areas of interest such as Southern Philippines and Indonesia. On information gathering and surveillance on the internet, key features will include the various platforms used by extremists to propagate their agenda, the tools and techniques that can be used to harvest essential information for analysis.
