The Certificate in Business Continuity Management (CBCM) is designed to equip participants with foundational knowledge and comprehension of the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and its pivotal role in fortifying an organization’s resilience against disruptions. Aligned with the International BCM Standards (ISO22301), the program introduces key operating elements and requirements, emphasizing the significance of a comprehensive BCM Program. Participants are guided through the process of analyzing business risks, evaluating strategies, developing BCM plans, and testing them through exercises. The structure of the BCM Program and associated roles and responsibilities are explored, culminating in a specially designed Simulation Exercise.
The primary goal of CBCM is to empower participants to craft a holistic BCM Program based on the ISO22301 framework. The structured learning journey encompasses an introduction to BCM and its elements, alignment with ISO22301 requirements, an in-depth understanding of roles and responsibilities within a BCM program, and insights into adapting BCM strategies to the challenges posed by the pandemic. The theoretical foundation provided is reinforced through active participation in a Simulation Exercise, enhancing practical application and preparedness.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants of CBCM will gain knowledge and understanding of the purpose and importance of Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program with the ability to link to the ISO22301 BCM framework and requirements. They will be familiar with the roles and responsibilities within the BCM organization structure and be able to develop key BCM Program processes and BC documentations so as to establish an effective BCM Program which is aligned to the ISO22301 requirements. Participants will also be able to relate their CBCM learnings during the post-pandemic planning and Covid-19 discussions.
REQUIREMENTS GRADUATION AND ENTRY
Entry Requirements
- 21 years old and above; and
- Diploma Holders; or
an industry or government recognise akin certificate; or
with at least 1 year of industry related working experience - Pass in English in Secondary or High School education or equivalent.
Graduation Requirements
Students will be assessed throughout the duration of the program. In order to be received the certificate, students must achieve a pass for their in-class assessments paper, and at least 75% of class attendance.
